WHAT WE DO
Advocacy for Innovation and Technology in Schools (AITS) engages in the following activities: –
Website Designing
We conduct hands-on website designing for students using interactive, child friendly tools and concepts to help them appreciate how websites work and lay a solid foundation to consider career and enterpreneur choices in the future.
Digital Content Creation
For learners to develop and produce various forms of media such as images, videos, audio and infographics that convey positive and meaningful content and art. The fundamental aspect is to expose learners to digital art and communication for them to appreciate and see the possibilities what this can do for them in the future if they consider this career path.
Coding
We introduce students to the world of coding using Scratch and Blockly – visual programming languages for school going children. We teach coding in a fun, friendly and engaging manner to develop in them creativity, problem solving and logical thinking. For advanced coding, we teach Python to lay a foundation for future programmers and software developers.
Robotics
We conduct robotics to offer a wealth of benefits and understanding how robots work. For us it’s way to arouse interest and passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in learners. The learners are taught in a hands-on, engaging and team building manner.
Internet and Technology Awareness
We raise awareness to advocate for the correct and safe use of the Internet and technology to allow students be exposed to the vast and unlimited resources to enhance their learning and knowledge acquisition. We encourage best practices in Internet and technology use including raising awareness on the dangers of misuse such as cyberbullying, inappropriate content, fake news and other vices.
Capacity Building for Educators
We build capacity in educators with knowledge, skills, and attitudes for them to effectively use innovation and technology to enhance and improve teaching.
Career guidance
We give career guidance to students to explore, understand, and plan their future educational and professional paths for those inclined and interested in ICT. This activity is always conducted by ICT industry experts who give talks to prospecting students to start making considerations to pursue ICT.
