AITS SENSITIZES OLS STUDENTS

Advocacy for Innovation and Technology in Schools (AITS) conducted an awareness program Thursday, 9 July 2024 at Our Lady’s School in Lusaka’s Foxdale Area. The program was aimed at raising awareness on the effective use of technology for learning.
The interactive session had over 35 students from both the primary and secondary sections.

Facilitator Mr Caleb Mukonka started the session by querying what technologies the students know and use. After the students shared on the technologies they know and use, they were encouraged to use technology effectively and it should support their learning to improve academically. Some platforms and websites like YouTube, search engines, AI ChatBots, Code Academy were recommended as sources of learning.
AITS Executive Director Mr Likezo E. Nyambe shared that not everything accessed through technology especially on the Internet was good but he appealed to students to avoid harmful content but view things that will help in their school work and to use technology to positively impact themselves and society.
Career and Guidance Teacher Mrs Pamela Chirambo urged the students to utilize the recommended platforms in order to improve their performance in school.
