WEBSITE DESIGNING LESSONS AT CHAINDA BASIC SCHOOL

Advocacy for Innovation and Technology in Schools (AITS) conducted Website Designing lessons at Chainda Basic School in Lusaka District on February 27, March 1 and March 6 of 2023.

The 3 Day activity was inline with the organisation’s vision of seeing schools help students to discover and develop their creativity through innovation and technology.

28 students from the Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) Club participated in the lessons. The students were drawn from Grade 8 and 9 classes.

Executive Director Mr Likezo Nyambe said among the objectives of the lessons were for students to describe a website, understand how a website works and build a simple website. Mr Nyambe said the aim is for students to acquire practical skills that can help them in future.

The School Planner and ICT Teacher Ms Bridget Daka urged the students to acquire the needed skills in order to create more opportunities for themselves in the future.

Head Teacher Mr Mubita Mubita said the lessons had broadened the students understanding of the computer. He said the lessons have also given students more opportunities to see what they can benefit in future if they embark on an ICT career.
